Domestic CAD Ecosystem Forum (Shanghai): Industrial Adoption of Geometry Engines
The Shanghai stop of the Domestic CAD Ecosystem Forum was co-hosted by the community and industry partners. The discussion centered on "where the cost boundary of engine replacement lies" and reached three points of consensus:
- The bulk of the replacement effort sits in data exchange and tolerance strategy adaptation, not in the modeling APIs themselves.
- A regression-ready set of industry test cases should be established early in the project as the basis for acceptance.
- Defect response time is the metric industrial users care about most, and the SLA should be made explicit through community mechanisms.

- The community will work with attending companies to consolidate industry test case sets and gradually include them in public regression testing.
